Practice These in 2023 for Your Inner Peace

Kamilah MS

As an advocate of inner peace, I will continue to practice what’s worked for me throughout the years since I reconnected with my inner peace and I want to share them with you in this blog.

Practice Letting Go

Sometimes we want to accomplish something within a particular time frame and we did not get to accomplish them, for example, weight goals, habit goals, relationships goals, career goals and financial goals. Contrary to what you may think, it is absolutely OK to not achieve your goals within a specified time. I used to be a goal-getter and I would have most of my goals ticked and checked only to realise they don’t really add to my worth or happiness. Some goals achieved, caused an upset in other areas of my life. In the case when we missed our goals, let go of your attachment because the time has already passed and you only got today to reflect and create a new one. Begin to identify what is it that you were attached to about your goal and declare a new goal that you KNOW you would be able to accomplish and be willing to accomplish. That is why my goal next year would be to continue on the momentum of practising inner peace and deepen the relationship that I have with myself.

Focus on Your Strength

Wonderful things can happen in our lives when we utilise and maximise our strengths and put them to good use. My strength is practising inner peace as listed above and below, it makes living such a joy even when situations get tough. I don’t get too stressed about things that I do not have the know-how about or things that I cannot control. If I do not know something, I trust that others who know would be able to work on it, or I could use their expertise to help me. I do not need to be the one who knows everything or be good at everything. For example, sometimes we worry about what’s happening in this world and most of them are beyond our scope of expertise or field of understanding and sometimes what’s happened, we cannot control. Focus on what you can offer to this world with your strength even if it is your ability to make people laugh.

Feel Gratitude

I say feel because, with gratitude, it is not enough to simply say it out when you do not feel it. Sometimes we can say thank you and not mean it. It is important to feel it first and have gratitude arise naturally from within your heart. Even with the people that you do not like, there is always something to feel grateful for when that person appeared in your life. Living life with gratitude have you experience abundance like no other. Money cannot buy this experience.

Nurture Loving Relationships

We are social beings and we must honour this as the law of nature. When you foster meaningful relationships and practice connecting and contributing with people and finding your tribe, you will not run out of knowledge, support and resources. We need one another even when we are enough on our own. It is a means to survival and well-being. We need interactions, laughter, tears and more. A loving relationship begins with yourself. Learn to love yourself like how you would love those who are important to you. Love goes both ways and you deserve love at least from yourself. As an introvert, this is the toughest for me and I am able to fulfil this beyond my imagination in 2022 so I am going to carry this on in 2023.

Forgive Yourself and Others

Forgiveness is healing and this is the toughest base on feedback I receive from my clients, family and friends. When you forgive you do not lose anything except perhaps you would lose your ego. In fact, you will gain so much more such as peace of mind, abundance and new openings to know people who are worthy of your time and energy. Forgiveness does not mean tolerating others. Forgive because you know that deep inside, you and others were once an innocent children but somewhere along the way, you and others have made mistakes be it consciously or unconsciously and it really isn’t anybody’s fault. As toxic as some may think, it is really what it is and there is NO POINT dwelling in the past.
